An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardized document which showcases the results of the LCA study of a product but with additional requirements for third party verification. A LCA is a standardized and transparent method for assessing and reporting the environmental impacts associated with the production of a product. It encompasses all relevant mandatory and/or optional stages of a product's life cycle, from raw material extraction to disposal.
You will identify and quantify inputs (e.g., raw materials, energy, water) and outputs associated with each stage of the product life cycle. Using our proprietary template, data collection is made easy and intuitive.
Once the data collection step is finished, we will perform LCA modelling. It involves application of impact assessment methods based on international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
Interpretation involves identifying hotspots (stages with the highest environmental impacts), comparing alternative scenarios, and exploring opportunities for improvement.
Throughout the verification, we provide support and assistance. We will procure the relevant third-party verifier based on their expertise and project requirements.
We take care of the EPD registration and publication. We accompany the client until the end of the project until the EPD is registered.
Data collection is made by you, via our proprietary template designed to be easy and user friendly.
We understand the sensitive and confidential nature of production data and we are ready to sign non-disclosure agreements provided by our clients.
Each EPD project is unique and has different timelines. However we've noticed a range of 8-12 weeks from EPD development to third party verification and registration.
Our consultants will guide you through finding the right verifier based on your project specifications and support you through registration.
EPDs can help companies ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and demonstrate adherence to relevant environmental standards, facilitating market access and reducing regulatory risks.
EPD results can be incorporated into sustainability reports and other communications with stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, and regulators.
Use EPDs results to raise awareness about the environmental implications of different products or purchasing decisions and empower consumers to make informed choices that align with their values and preferences.
